Back To School: Back To School Tag

First of all, these questions are from a Youtube Tag, instead of an actual blog tag, so it may be hard to answer some of the questions. Also, the schooling system is different in the UK, so again it may be hard. I don't feel the need for a long intro so, here goes:

1. Do you like school?
No, but I understand that I need to go if I want to have a good career when I am older (which has paid off since I have 100% Attendance).

2. What are you excited and/or nervous for this year?
Seeing my friends again, being higher in the school. But I am nervous because it will be harder work this year because of Exams.

3. What Subjects are you taking?
Drama, Art, English, Design Technology, Textiles, Food Tech, Religious Education, History, Geography, Personal Studies, Physical Education, Music, French, Information Communication Technology, Science and Maths. I am from the UK.

4. What's your Favourite Subject?
Art, I love the creative subjects most. But Art is the best.

5. What's your least Favourite Subject?
French, even though I have French family, I HATE it.

6. What's your schedule like?
1st period, 2nd period, Break, 3rd period, Lunch, 4th period, 5th period. Our lessons are an hour each.

7. Do you do Extra Curricular Activities?
I play Rounders when it is the season but that's it.

8. What's your favourite thing about your school?
We get mixed up in lessons, in my mates school, they stay in the same groups.

9. Tips on how to survive a Boring Lesson?

10.What Grade were you in when you first started wearing makeup to school?
Year 7-6th Grade in the States.

11. Where do you like to go shopping for Back To School Supplies?
WHSmith. If you go more than once, you get lots of Vouchers from the first time, and you can use them on the second.

12. What are 3 non-beauty essentials you have to carry in your backpack?
Coloured Fineliners, Reading Book and My Locker Key.

13. What are your School Related Goals?
To pay attention in class.

14. What do you want to do when you Graduate?
Dunno yet?

15. How do you balance Friends, Family, School and your Internet life?
Not sure? Probably why in June and July I wasn't posting much since I had to revise.

Hope you enjoyed this, and try it yourself and if you do comment your Blog and if you follow me I will follow you but only through Bloglovin so you will have to have a Bloglovin account for your Blog.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Back To School: Autumn 2013 Fashion and Beauty Trends

Yay! A new season is arriving which is an excuse for new Clothes and Beauty Products to arrive to your collection. While reading a couple teens magazines (so this may be looks that aren't for the more mature, but you can always take tips), I gathered a couple of old and new trends for the coming season.

The one trend I spotted throughout the magazines is of course, Denim! Whether it is a pair of Statement Jeans or a Denim Shirt paired with some cute Tan Accessories, Denim is going to be a very popular fabric featured all through Autumn. Also with Jeans being common staple pieces in our wardrobes, you may not need to buy anything Denim. As I mentioned earlier, Denim and Tan Accessories, is a good option for this season. Last year, Tan was quite popular in Autumn outfits and it is back again this year, but mostly with denim. Because it is a neutral colour it ties in well with the blues of Denim but still allows the colours to pop. Meaning that your Denim pieces stand out. I also touched on Statement Jeans. From just Bright Colours to Crazy Patterns, they are the main piece of the outfit, so as you should know by now, keep the other items SIMPLE! You don't want to look like all the acts from the circus rolled into one. Clue is in the name: STATEMENT Jeans. So let them shine like they are supposed to.

Classic Prints like Tartan and Houndstooth are back! As a statement piece or if you are brave/clever you can use both in the same outfit, but you have to be careful. The trick is to have hints of them in either the pockets in some jeans (which will also tick the box for the Denim), or in a scarf. So that they aren't covering your whole body. Which leads us to Monochrome. It hasn't really left us since, God knows when. But for this colour combination, stripes are the way to go, another classic print. It is also easy to find just a Black and White Striped Top for barely nothing. or you could go for something funky Vertical Striped Leggings/Trousers/Jeans. But if the Black leaves Monochrome you get left with: White, or Cream. Another Colour to look out for this season. Just a simple White Jumper or Hoodie will do and you will look on trend.
Last but not least, Leopard. No matter how small the item this will be a statement piece so wear if you dare. But this is a very chic patten which will make you stand out from the crowd.

For Beauty this season, you can inspire your Makeup Looks with... Fire! I am not saying that you have to paint flames on your face. But you can rock the famous Red Lip or use Warmer Colours in the Crease for your Eyes. For Nails, Geometric Patterns a spot on. The most simplistic way is to grab a bunch of colours, which include: A Grey, A Black and Five other colours (which can't be dark ones!). Then for each nail paint the whole nail in the Grey, then take another colour other than Black and paint that over half of each nail (best to use different ways like Chevron, Stripes, Triangles to mix it up, and also use the same colour for each nail type say Pink for both the Index etc.). Then take your Black and paint that over either half of both of them or half of just one. And there you have your stylish Geometric Nails.

Hope you have a fashionable back to school time! Feel free to ask any questions!

Back To School: Locker Organisation

Here we go again! Another year of the pain of Exams, Lessons and Teachers. Yes, I am talking about school. Whether you have started or are going to, the next couple of posts are to help you get through the year ahead. The reason this won't be just one post is because there are so many tips and tricks that use throughout the school day, it just wouldn't flow as easily as it would as a normal post. So consider this a Back to School series. For me, despite days of planning my book cover designs and shopping for school supplies, as soon as I get back in the classroom, it isn't how I imagined it (maybe me watching too much Glee). So for this 'Series' it may end up as more like a diary until the first week to tell you how I am feeling and how my new methods work.

Today, I will be talking about the joys and messiness of lockers. Sadly, in the UK we don't have the same types of things that you can buy in the States for lockers here. So most of it is DIY. In fact the inspiration for this post was that right before now, I was making my own shelf using a cardboard box, scissors and duct tape (colour alterations may be made at a later date). If you want to know, in a nutshell, I turned the box upside down, cut out one of the sides and covered it in duct tape, but the left over cardboard piece was stuck to the top of the shelf for sturdiness.

Because of my PE kit, last year my locker stank, so I bought a car air freshener and it did the trick. My locker has ventilation holes at the top so I hung it through them, but you could just place it at the bottom of your locker.

A survival kit, is a must, it doesn't have to be in your locker too, you could have a pouch in your bag. But since this is your locker we are talking about and you will probably have alot of stuff you may need a box to go in your locker. So here is what I would advise you to put in your survival kit:
-Hair Bands
-A Snack
-Clear Nail Polish
-Stuff for Contacts (If you wear them)
-A Hairbrush
-Hand Sanitiser
-Hand Cream/Body Cream
-A Plaster (Or Band Aids if you are from the States)
-Dry Shampoo
-Face Wipes

I hope this guide helps. Feel free to ask questions and give your locker advice down below.
